Mankind will soon be looking to travel to the planet Mars, land there briefly and return to Earth.
Research Question
Discuss how increased science knowledge has allowed humans to begin to overcome the problems of space travel as outlined below, to make this mission a reality?
You need to consider the following space travel problems in your report
• Human Health (effect of weightlessness, body temperature maintenance)
• Eating and Breathing
• Distance from Earth (speed limitations, fuel, navigation, landing and take off)
• Walking on the Surface of Mars(radiation, cold, gravity)
Human Health
As astronauts spending any time at space is a huge problem for human body. Space travel to mars is many effect to human body because the human are living on Earth are affected by gravity because the human body is equipped with many system to hinder gravity to keep sufficient blood flow to the brain. This is call “fluid shift”. Since space has no gravity your body becomes weak since there is no use. A few days out at space as weightless you will experience motion sickness and as time goes on the problem will get worst. Your 3.2% average bone loss occurred after nearly 10 day of weightlessness. One way that to protect bone loss is onboard exercise e.g. treadmill and ergo meter. The human body floats in space with a micro gravity environment muscles rapidly weaken due to the lack of use. After u get in weightlessness for a few hours you will get headaches, malaise, nausea and vomiting Effects of space radiation. The space radiation may affect the astronauts and the pressure can be artificially maintained must always besiege the astronauts.
